Hi there, I'm Maggie

My cozy, stone cottage studio in Chillicothe, Ohio isn't just a workspace for me. It’s the same creative space where my mother and grandmother once crafted. I am deeply proud to carry on a five-generation family legacy of soapmaking, transforming what was once a household necessity into a modern art form. Today, it’s still a family affair, and you’ll occasionally find my daughters, my sister, or my significant other in the studio helping me wrap bars, package online orders, or prep ingredients.

Olive Blossom Soap Co. was officially born in 2016, but my personal journey with soapmaking began over 25 years ago. Drawing on my background as a licensed massage therapist, aromatherapist, and healthcare professional, I have spent decades studying herbology, holistic healing, and science-backed formulating. Melding these disciplines allows me to create intentional products with a deep understanding of how much what we put on our bodies matters.

Made the Old-Fashioned Way

I don’t believe in shortcuts. When you hold a bar of my soap, you are holding something made entirely from scratch using the traditional cold-process method. Every single batch is formulated with at least 50% olive oil and cured for a full four weeks to ensure a gentle lather and a long-lasting bar.

You will never find pre-made or melt-and-pour bases, cheap filler oils, or harsh chemicals in my studio. I believe in 100% transparency, which is why every single ingredient is always listed on the label.

I carefully source high-quality plant oils, creamy butters, milks, beeswax, and clays, and prioritize organic and local ingredients whenever possible. For colors and scents, I choose ethically sourced mineral powders and natural clays, sustainable essential oils, and pure, uncut fragrance oils. Everything I make is phthalate-free, paraben-free, and palm-oil-free, and most of my products are vegan-friendly, too.
